HBKU Press and Chinese Delegation Discuss Ways to Expand Cross-Cultural Reach

Meeting explored potential partnerships and strategies in translation and publishing
Hamad Bin Khalifa University Press (HBKU Press) recently organised a high-level meeting that brought together esteemed representatives from China to explore potential partnerships and strategies in translation and publishing.
During the discussions, HBKU Press presented its extensive catalog emphasizing a variety of titles that reflect the institution's commitment to advancing knowledge and cultural exchange. It also highlighted opportunities for collaboration that would enhance HBKU’s and Qatar’s global publishing reach, particularly enhancing visibility in the Chinese market.

The delegation included Yue Jianguang, President of China Architecture Publishing and Media, and its Editorial Director, Li Jie; Ma Jianjun, President of Peking University Press, alongside Deng Xiaoxia, Director of the Chinese Department; and Huang Juanqin, Vice General Manager of Zhejiang University Press.
This exchange aims to foster mutual understanding as well as outline concrete steps toward strengthening international ties through literature and academic discourse. It also reflects HBKU Press’ strategy to empower Arab voices and stories, as well as translate critical literary contributions from around the world.
