Proverbios inmortales de las historias de Kalila y Dimna

Guided by a literary spirit and an artist’s eye, Wadha Al-Athba breathes new life into the fables of Kalila and Dimna, first penned by the Indian philosopher Bidpai in the 4th century AD and later Arabized by Abdullah Ibn al-Muqaffaʿ in the 8th century AD. From among these ancient tales, she has selected a few to retell in her own words, bringing their events vividly to life through illustrations inspired by the artistic and historical tradition of Persian miniature painting. These works are further enhanced with modern artistic touches, incorporating ancient paper-coloring techniques using natural materials and adorning the pages with intricate ornamentation and delicate gold-leaf embellishment.
