Parallel Lives
We all have many choices in life, and we move between them based on what suits our circumstances, values, principles, and needs. These choices intertwine to create our parallel lives and alter our destinies. Fate is altered by prayer, changed through Istikhara (guidance prayer), and alleviated through charity, while destiny is inevitable and cannot be escaped, like the time of a person’s birth, death, family, lineage, and descendants...
The question remains: How do we live our lives? Do we live them with worry and negativity, waiting for destiny, or do we plant and cultivate the earth with trust in God, moving between destinies until the inevitable comes?
This novel sheds light on this duality—fate and destiny. Each of its stories has an alternate scenario where choices, decisions, and fates differ, but the constants of destiny remain. However, no matter what choices a person makes in life, God’s unchangeable and inevitable destiny prevails.
