Announcing the Doha Illustration Competition!
HBKU Press is pleased to announce our international illustration competition, designed to support new and undiscovered talent! This competition offers emerging illustrators from around the world a chance to showcase their creativity and have their artwork published by HBKU Press.
HBKU Press will provide the base story content for artists to illustrate and submit for
consideration. Whether you're a self-taught artist or just starting your journey, we want to see your vision!
The winning illustrator will have the chance to publish their artwork in an upcoming HBKU Press book, and be sold in our permanent sales catalog.
Judging Criteria
Our panel of judges will review all submissions based on the following criteria:
- Originality and creativity
- Technical skill and execution
- Alignment with the provided content
- Overall impact and artistic expression
Submission Guidelines
- Eligibility: This competition is open to emerging illustrators who have not been previously published.
- How to Submit: Fill out the Application & Submission Form.
- Upload a high-quality image of your artwork (maximum size: 25 MB).
- Provided Content: Illustrators must use the base content provided by HBKU Press for their submissions.
- Deadline: All entries must be received by May 1st, 2025.
Terms and Conditions
- Illustrators MUST base artwork off the provided HBKU Press content.
- Only original illustrations are eligible.
- Artists may submit one entry per person.
- Previously published work will not be eligible.
- Applicants must be in high school or older to participate.
Winners will be announced at the Doha International Book Fair on May 8, 2025. Stay tuned!
