Hamad Bin Khalifa University Press Signs Publishing Agreement for New Journal with Arab Scientific Community Organisation (ARSCO)

Hamad Bin Khalifa University Press (HBKU Press) welcomed executive leadership from the Arab Scientific Community Organisation to the Minaretein (College of Islamic Studies building) in Education City yesterday to sign a publishing agreement outlining the development of a new journal to be launched on HBKU Press’s online, peer-reviewed, Open Access platform,


The journal, titled the Arabian Journal of Scientific Research (AJSR), will be devoted to publishing the latest scientific research in pure and applied natural sciences, mathematics, medicine, engineering, and the history and philosophy of science in Arabic. Translations of the abstract will also be available in English.

Mr. Bachar Chebaro, Executive Director of HBKU Press and Dr. Moza bint Mohammad Al-Rabban, President of ARSCO, signed the agreement in the presence of senior representatives from both esteemed institutions and members of the press.

“The inclusion of the Arabian Journal of Scientific Research on and within our collection of academic journals confirms our commitments as a university publishing house to publish the latest and most important information for researchers and readers in the region and beyond,” explained Chebaro. “HBKU Press is providing Arab academics with a global platform on which to share their information.”

The agreement will see the release of two issues of the new journal per year, with the first issue set to be published in early 2020.

ARSCO is an independent, non-profit organization that was established in 2010 with the aim to support and strengthen the Arab scientific community.
